Papal Official Description and Meaning of the Logo to Myanmar

Pope Francis is making his first historical visit to Yangon, which is the former capital city of Myanmar from 27 to 30 November 2017. He will arrive Yangon on 27 November and he will go to Nay Pyi Taw, the administrative capital of Myanmar where he will surely meet the President of the Union Of Republic Of Myanmar and State Counselor, government cabinets and members of parliaments. He will then come back to Yangon in the evening. On 29 November, he will celebrate his public Mass at Kyaikasan ground which can accommodate about 300,000 people and will have meeting with different groups and people. On 30 November, he will have youth mass at the St. Mary’s Cathedral of Yangon.

The official description and meaning of the logo:

The shape of the logo is a heart. The common ground of the Christianity and Buddhism is Love. It is this concept that creates mutual respect and acceptance between the Christians and the Buddhists.

The ribbons that form the shape of the heart are two flags: one is of Vatican (yellow and white) and the other (yellow, green and red) is of Myanmar.

The map of Myanmar is colorfully painted like a rainbow. It signifies the multi ethnicity of Myanmar; it has eight major tribes and another 135 ethnic groups with different languages, dialects and culture.

The Holy Father with a dove says that the Holy Father is the messenger of peace.
